Consulting & Coaching with Meggin
It's time to hire a coach or consultant when:
- there is a gap between where you are and where
you want to be and
- when you are willing and able to make changes
to close or eliminate that gap.
If you think everything is already perfect as it is &/or you aren't willing to make any changes, then please wait to access the expertise, knowledge, and skill of a coach or consultant until you are ready. If you are ready to access my knowledge, expertise, and skill, then here's what you should know:
- I operate from a “strengths-based” paradigm. I believe that all of us have particular strengths and talents that allow us to do things that others can’t do—or can’t do as easily. I believe that if we stay in the realm of our strengths, then we use our energy for the most benefit for ourselves, our projects, and others within our sphere of influence. Given this, I recommend that all my long-term, one-on-one clients buy and read one (or all) of the following books:
- I value positive energy. I work to maintain my own positive energy and make certain choices that will honor that value. I encourage that in my clients, as well.
- I take responsibility for my life and expect that in those with whom I work, as well. I hold myself responsibility for my choices, actions, and beliefs and want to see others do the same.
Those who would find me to be a good consultant/coach for them are:
- Ready…ready to work, ready to think, ready to talk, ready to process, ready to make changes, ready to let go of some things, ready to embrace other things, ready to spend money, time, and effort to move closer to their goals and purpose, ready for uncertainty, ready for life….
- Aware…aware that there are other possibilities for them in their lives, aware and introspective about their own thoughts, beliefs, patterns, aware that they can’t necessarily “get there” by themselves….
- Open…open to change, open to introspection, open to exploring, open to new ideas, open to collaborating with a consultant and coach, open to creating a new life….

Consider these productivity
coaching options!
Numerous options are available for the person or organization interested in my services as a professional organizer.
After reading the choices below, go ahead and
schedule a phone consultation (no charge) so we can talk about what might be best for you and whether I'm the right person to assist you. |
- 8-Hour Miracle™ — which is just what it sounds like! The investment for this option (in the Reno-Sparks area) is $1595 and includes a copy of the Paper Tiger Software ($169.95 retail) and 8 hours with me (along with my assistant) working in your office. In most cases, I visit with you in your office prior to the “miracle” day so that we can agree on what the goals of the consulting will be, what the needs are, what office supplies need to be on hand, etc.
*If you'd like to view some Before and After views from an 8-Hour Miracle™ conducted with a local professor, just click here for the story and the pictures. (Coming soon)

- One-on-one Consulting regarding organizational and productivity challenges. Some of my clients only need a couple of hours of “fine-tuning;” others want on-going work on their challenges, but only 2 – 3 hours at a time instead of spending a full day just once. The investment for consulting at this level is $225/hour with a 2-hour minimum (within the Reno-Sparks area). Outside the “metropolitan” area, different fees and minimums may apply.
|
- Productivity Quick Start™ — involves a combination of a short “kick off” workshop and consulting in the office environment. This is for the organization that is ready to make significant changes to save significant financial and non-financial resources. The investment is based on the number of participants and the expected results. Contact our office for more information.

Professional Organizing
My parents are the people who have been the most surprised that I have become known as “The Productivity Professor”™. When I was a child, they did everything they possibly could to help me get myself organized…but to no avail….at least until I was nearly 32 years old. By then, I had become a college professor--and the truth was:
- the piles with which I was surrounded,
- the days of feeling I had not done enough,
- the embarrassment of people marveling at my rising stacks of stack trays,
- the worry about losing students’ work, etc.,
had become too much. I decided to take action because I knew I couldn’t live like that anymore. |

So, I read books, listened to tapes in my car, went to seminars, and slowly but surely, began to make changes. People noticed and started asking me to help them get organized. As it turned out, not only was I good at it, I loved it!
Besides all the seminars and workshops on productivity-related issues I offer around the continent, I also work with individuals in their offices (both on-site and home offices) to increase productivity that is sustainable! The people who hire me are ready, willing, and able to learn new systems that we design together—because they want to be more productive—and to do so peacefully. They are tired of feeling overwhelmed on a daily basis with tasks, projects, paper, electronic information, requests, meetings, and the like. My clients know there must be a better way and are happy when I am able to offer them some options.
In addition to the self-teaching and experience I’ve had over the past 20 years in this area, I am a graduate of the PTAC (Productivity Trainer and Authorized Consultant) Program through Hemphill Productivity Institute. Having this background gives me access to numerous resources, training, and products from which clients can benefit. I’m also proud to be a Golden Circle member of NAPO, the National Association of Professional Organizers.
Consulting with Individuals & Groups
In addition to consulting in the area of time, paper, information, and life management (more on that below), I also work with a limited number of schools, colleges, universities, and other organizations in the area of team building, curriculum enhancement, leadership development, etc. The fees for consulting in this area are generally $225/hour, but may vary depending on other aspects of the overall project.
Coaching
Coaching is quickly becoming one of the leading tools that successful people use to create, enjoy, and live extraordinary lives. As a coach, I work with clients to develop the “3 C’s”: Consciousness, Clarity, and Conviction about the choices they want to make. Once they have developed the “3 C’s”, I support them as they go about pursuing and implementing those choices. It is an incredible experience to be in a coaching relationship with a client who is ready to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be. I am thankful to have the training and opportunity to work with people in this way.
As a coach, my strength lies in maximizing the efforts of bright, creative people who are “in overwhelm” and who no longer want to be there. As part of that process, I coach people who want to be clear and conscious about their choices, thereby allowing them to live on purpose. If you are “in overwhelm,” yet hold out hope and belief that there is an alternative, contact me so we can talk about whether I would be a good coach for you.
Once a potential client and I have agreed that I am the right coach at the right time, the client completes a packet of information and we schedule an initial, intake visit (about 1½ hours). The fee for this session is $225. I have several coaching packages for ongoing coaching ranging from a $450 – $750 investment each month, depending on the frequency of the calls, whether F2F time will be scheduled, etc.
Note: At this time (Spring/Summer 2008), I am only taking coaching clients through Meggin's Entrepreneurial Mentoring Club (MEMc). If you are looking for an executive life coach, I would recommend either of the following resources:
